<Nine Head Dragon> the abyss is a unique hostile NPC in the Elona+ mod of Elona. He is encountered in the Island in madness surrounded by jellyfish kraken, and many more tsathoggua.

It attacks from long range with the Distant Attack special action, but will not try to move away from its target if approached. It casts Nightmare, Mind Bolt, and Raging Roar spells, as well as uses the Eye of Brainwashing, Divine Stream, and Psychic Wave special actions.

In addition, the map has a natural special effect that raises your sanity by certain levels along with the flavor text "Horrible call rang in your head". Note that if it gets to extreme levels, the map will automatically boot you with the message "Your mind cannot stand anymore". It's highly recommended to enter the map with sanity-draining methods in tow, such as bringing Unicorn horns, eating sister's lunch, using Statue of Jure, or having a pet that knows Rain of Sanity.

In addition to normal level-based resistances, it has natural superb resistance to magic- and mind-based attacks. It is innately immune to Fear, Blindness and Confusion; it also floats.
