Junk stone is supposedly a junk item. It cannot be used as a throwing weapon like a stone. It is sometimes requested in quests. Opatos of Earth and Jure of Healing (vanilla only) accept these as favored sacrifices* as they are technically counted as ores; this means that pets will also pick them up to sell.
Unlike most junk items, pets will receive a full 10 gold when selling these, making them useful for training your pets' potential at very low levels. They become significantly more redundant as the game progresses, being useful mainly for the disproportionate awards from "birthday" and "I want it" quests.
