These are extremely dangerous, high-level monsters, the close combat analogue to Spiral King casters and Shub-Niggurath summoners. With the Eye of Insanity special action they are able to incapacitate opponents very quickly, and their touch attack deals considerable amounts of physical or nether damage. Add these offensive abilities to high speed, a fairly good life total and decent defensive stats, and you have one demon of a monster. Do not attack or even approach these unless you are sure you know what you are doing. Thankfully, they have an extremely distinctive sprite graphic, so keep a rod of teleport handy and get out if you see a large purple tentacled creature in one of your dungeons or quests. Keeping them paralyzed by using nerve damage works pretty well.

Once you're stronger, it's worth noting that these make quite good riding pets. Good resilience, good speed, and considerable damage -- You can ride them at full speed even at 1 riding, rings of speed included.

Elona Mobile[]

Yith

In mobile, GRofY has been downgraded to a low level monster.

They make good early game allies. They have relatively high opening stats and high HP and MP growth but not a lot of evolution potential and no useful feats.

They start with no armor slots, but the Vampire Fang spell can off-set the lack of armor. They have 4 arms (4 weapons, 4 rings), but you need to gene engineer the “dual wield” to take full advantage.

They don’t appear regularly until higher dungeons, but if you find one early in the game (for example from a “summons random monster” curse, grab it as an early game Melee/tank.

They can reliably be found In Glaciar and Nightmare dungeons.
