Foxes are neutral NPCs that only appear in the Elona+ version of Elona. They were added in version 1.32.

Their routine is melee. They use Eye of brainwashing occasionally, and cast Cure of Jua at low health. They spawn in dungeons of the appropiate Danger Level, and will attack any hostile NPCs they detect.

Disguised fox

A Fox disguised as a citizen in Palmia.

Occasionally, a fox will spawn inside town maps disguised as a citizen. They are one of the three NPCs to do so, the others being the Werewolf and Sunbararian, but unlike them foxes do not trigger the "murderer" event and are generally harmless unless provoked. They keep their increased stats and levels when disguised, so players should be mindful of this before doing things like starting fires or nuking a town.

Evolution Edit

Foxes cannot be evolved.

  • cardf creates a card of fox.
  • figuref creates a figurine of fox.

The sprite number for fox is 764.

Trivia Edit

  • This NPC is likely to be closer to the supernatural depiction of the kitsune rather than the common fox (in Japanese, the same word is used to refer to either).
    • Their ability to shapeshift (into citizens) and charm enemies (through Eye of brainwashing) are also attributed to kitsune in fiction.
