Elders are friendly NPCs that can be found in all towns. There are exactly one elder in each town. They also can be found visiting your shops and museums.

They act like citizens, accepting quests in towns. Beyond that, there are nothing special about these NPCs.

In combat, they don't shoot and prefer using melee attacks, despite their class being gunner.

Elona+ changes

They learn the Detection skill and lose their resistances.

Starting from 1.54 Elona+ update, a new choice "I want on behalf of the town management. (Authority0/2000)" will be displayed when talking to elder. The Authority is displayed as Praise when a player gains it after completing a quest. Currently, this is an unfinished feature which is being developed.
