Cubes are hostile NPCs. These high-level enemies can multiply when attacked, like bubbles and mass monsters. Cubes, however, will not split when they have a negative status condition such as poison or confusion. They can use the Eye of Dimness special action. They do not float, despite their appearance, and are generated without equipment. They are also classless.

Although it does not show up as a normal resistance in the status page, cubes are innately immune to most elements besides magic-elemental attacks (e.g. Magic Dart, Crystal Spear). Note that status effects from abilities of an element the cube is immune to still apply.
